Bilfinger UK expands its footprint into the pharmaceutical sector in Scotland with £12.5 million GSK project and maintenance contract

- Over 40 Bilfinger employees daily on-site
Bilfinger UK has secured a multi-million-pound project and maintenance contract with multinational pharmaceutical company, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK).
Bilfinger UK will support the business with the ongoing development and maintenance of its production facilities at Montrose where GSK manufacture active pharmaceutical ingredients for a diverse portfolio of HIV, Respiratory and Corticosteroid medical products.
The three-year contract, which has an option for a further two-year extension, will be delivered under Bilfinger’s Engineering & Maintenance service line and will be supported from its new UK regional office in Grangemouth, Scotland. The contract will commence at the end of July and will involve employment of over 40 personnel.
Bilfinger UK and GSK see this strategic contract award as the start of a long-term partnership where both parties will work together to deliver on commitments to introduce innovation and continuously improve the quality and efficiency of service delivery.
The agreement will see Bilfinger UK, which employs 2,500 people, provide electrical and instrumentation installation and access, insulation and painting services for the project and maintenance requirements of the Montrose site.
