Apprentice Profile

Matthew Harrison, Apprentice Panel Wireman (2nd year)

  • Level 3 BTEC Electrical Engineering
  • Level 4 HNC Electrical Engineering

Why Bilfinger?

In my interview I realised that Bilfinger UK offered a lot of opportunities to an apprentice like myself and was a very diverse company that had a wide range of areas to progress into along with the training qualifications needed to attain the career I wanted.

Daily Tasks/Projects:

I am currently working on a production line which involves preparing cables and wiring control panels which control security cameras at highly regulated sites.

Key Achievements:

  • Achieving a distinction in my level 3 BTEC Electrical Engineering qualification.
  • Attaining my apprenticeship in Bilfinger UK.
  • Furthering my study to complete a level 4 HNC Electrical Engineering qualification.
  • Learning many new skills in a short amount of time, which has given me the independence and confidence to complete important tasks independently and trusted by my mentors to do this without supervision.

Future Career Path:

I hope to progress as much as possible in the business through completing my HNC qualification, with the possibility to take a step further by applying to study a degree in an engineering based role at the company.
