Why Bilfinger?

Initially, Bilfinger UK was my preferred choice due to the vast selection of sectors it operates in, and because of a family member who has been working for the company told me that the culture of the business supports learning and development, on the job training and rewards hard work. After that I knew that I wanted to work for the company as its reputation proceeded it as a leading international industrial services provider. Throughout the years working for the company, they have offered continued support, development opportunities and have lived up to my initial expectations from when I first took my apprentice position.

Daily Tasks/Projects:

  • Supporting the day to day operations of the Manufacturing facility through creating progress reports, resource programmes and financial reports for all live projects as well as coordinating Health and Safety and facilities actions to ensure regulations are met.
  • Working as part of a team in the industrialisation of projects to ensure the manufacturing phase of a project is as efficient as possible with minimum waste through utilising my lean training and manufacturing experience.
  • Creating, implementing and analysing KPI’s for the Production department as well as delivering feedback through corrective action sessions and performance reviews.
  • Leading an improvement project which will result in the Production facility to reduce part of its energy costs by 76%.

Key Achievements:

  • Attaining and completing my apprenticeship with the company.
  • Completing my degree part time whilst also working full time.
  • Achieving significant results in the implementation of lean methodologies within the manufacturing environment.
  • Progressing my position numerous times within the company since starting in 2010.
  • Being awarded the MBDA Recognition Awards prize for innovation while completing my apprenticeship at college.

Future Career Path:

I intend to progress into a management position in the upcoming future as well as enrolling onto an MBA.
