I chose Bilfinger UK as it seemed like a good place to work due to its reputation and the vast availability of opportunity the company offers for apprentices like myself, which distinguishes the brand from other providers in the industry.

Daily Tasks/Projects:

  • General electrical work including wiring circuits, installing new equipment, testing, maintenance and changing light fixtures.
  • Generating costs of electrical work on site based on the equipment required and hours worked.
  • Compiling test sheets for electrical circuits so that clients has up to date files.

Key Achievements:

  • Gaining an apprenticeship with an industry leading organisation.
  • Getting the opportunity to learn new aspects of the trade as well as also developing my electrical knowledge and skills further during my apprenticeship.
  • Broadening my range of work experience through being able to work in different parts of the country for 6 months, where I helped with quantity surveying tasks.

Future Career Path:

I am due to go back on site in the next few weeks to complete my practical study towards gaining a NVQ 3 and AM 2 qualifications in order to become a qualified electrician. I am also looking forward to being able to work nationwide again soon to gain further knowledge and skills, possibly in another of the services provided by Bilfinger UK as well as to experience working with a new customer and different industry.
